To become an instructor in Tennessee, laws require that you obtain a valid license as a Cosmetologist, Manicurist, Natural Nair stylist for a continues of 3 years. In addition, Tennessee laws require that you meet other educational and experience requirements. You must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. and complete a board-approved instructor training program. For licensed Cosmetologist, Nail Tech, or Natural Hair Stylist who desire to qualify for Instructor license. This course consists of coming at least one day per week for one year. There is a written and practical examination that must be completed prior to the time in which one may serve as a qualified instructor in Tennessee.
As an instructor you will also need to complete at least 16 hours of continuing education credits.
